About
Our schools are failing our kids!
I believe we can do something about it, but only from the grassroots UP!
The goal of this community is to create a safe, private space for parents, concerned teachers, and others who share the view that our problems as a nation start in the CLASSROOM.
The operating premises of this community are:
America’s educational establishment, both private and public, is broken; Students from every demographic underperform by every objective measure, as compared with their counterparts in every other first-world nation;
People who control the system, from the development and adoption of curricula, to the training and hiring of teachers (unions especially) have their own agenda: to indoctrinate the nation’s children to either agree with the people in power and become activists on behalf of the powerful, or are incapable of effectively challenging the powerful effectively;
So far, the educational establishment has been wildly successful at achieving their agenda, at the expense of our kids’ individuality, future success, and intellectual and emotional well-being;
Key to their success have been complicit media and the political elite, both of which have been aiding and abetting by uncritically accepting their myriad excuses and scapegoats for student under-achievement and outright failure;
They are currently engaged in a massive cover-up, trying to hide their mistakes and failures by changing “grading practices” to make failure look more like success;
Conclusion:
We need to LOUDLY question, criticize, and demand accountability from the educational establishment, and the media and politicians who defend and enable them. This MUST be done at the grassroots level; AWARENESS is key.
This community aims to raise awareness, one member at a time, in hope they will spread the word to others in their spheres of influence, and start a mass #WalkAway movement FROM the system that has, and intends to continue to FAIL our kids, and our country.
