I am getting SO tired of this...There is no such thing as LGBTQ+ "rights." There are rights, and there are privileges, and what they want are PRIVILEGES. Most of the things people are complaining about in the following resources are NOT RIGHTS. At most, you have a right as a human being and American to be left alone/not aggressed against. If a school wants to make it a PRIVILEGE that you can behave in certain special ways they need to acknowledge they are engaging in LGBTQ+ PRIVILEGE or SUPREMACY.
I said what I said, and I said it b/c there is no "right" to take a "cis" date to the prom. Most schools make you fill out a background check now, and if the kid isn't a student at the school, they may not be able to attend. If they want to sell a max number of tickets, and you didn't buy one in time, too bad so sad, you can't bring a date at all, of any persuasion. If you had a RIGHT to attend or bring any kind of date, schools would be in constant violation.
Also, there is no "right" to not be made fun of. It's unfortunate when people say mean things, I wish they wouldn't, especially to kids, but welcome to the real world, and I'm sorry, my kids were picked on and bullied THE MOST by members of the LGBTQ+ community at their schools, which now constitute pretty much MOST of the kids b/c they've figured out it gives them privilege.
When you can "identify" with a group that gets special privilege, you do. That's called being a pragmatic kid who "gets" it. This needs to stop already:
