This is a guest post on my Substack by John Sullivan, who writes for WrongSpeak. It's gut-wrenching, not gonna lie, but it's important. Since I'm starting. my #yearoftheboy campaign pretty much NOW, I asked him to tell his story b/c one of the things that has been bothering me a lot is how REAL victims are going unnoticed amid the obsessive focus on imaginary ones (so-called "trans kids" ).
The entire education, social work, etc. establishment seems hyper fixated on POTENTIAL abuse of gender non-conforming kids (whose number is increasing exponentially with the hyper focus, b/c so many kids see it as a way to feel special, and included), and is SO hostile to biological, typically masculine so-called "cis" gendered boys especially, when they show up with bruises at school, no one notices, OR they're told they probably did something to deserve it, or it's just assumed they got into a fight with another kid -- yes, fights are that common even they go unnoticed anymore.
That's how we get to FIVE CHILDREN PER DAY dying at the hands of legal guardians, parents, and caregivers. That's how we get to stories like John's.
