I know, because I've been witness to it, kids today are getting caught in Kafka traps all the time, and they have NO idea what they are, or how to avoid them, never mind how to fight back against them. Those kids, caught up in riots and looting? I'm 100% sure at some point in the past decade, they got caught in a Kafka trap, or witnessed someone else who did, and committed then and there to avoid the fallout from that discomfort by joining, rather than fighting the beast. I simply refuse to believe we have raised a veritable army of sociopaths. I prefer to believe these are kids who've got a maladaptive coping "skill" of sorts, and it manifests in doing what they think they need to do to PROVE their innocence: "LOOK AT ME! Look at the proof I'm not what they said I was/say I am!"
Parents need to sit their kids down early and often, and tell them what those of us over 50 were told, early and often: You can't control what other people think of you, and you shouldn't even try. Please your ...
